TURTLE TAIDO WINS MORE INTERNATIONAL AWARDS!

Nigeria’s most popular animation series, Adventures of Turtle Taido has picked up one award and two nominations at the Top Indie Film Awards, Tokyo, TIFA 2020.
These are the award for Best Message, and Nominations for Best Animated Short and Best Original Idea.

Says Muyiwa Kayode, Creator and Executive Producer of Turtle Taido, “The Best Message Award means a lot to us because the essence of Turtle Taido is to promote diversity and mutual understanding as a way of fostering unity in our nation, in Africa and the world. The main character travels to different cities and in so doing, he makes new friends, learns about other cultures and uses his special powers to help those in trouble”.

Earlier this year, Turtle Taido won the award for Best Children Short at the Independent Short Awards, Los Angeles 2020, for the second year running.

Other awards previously won by Turtle Taido include Best TV Series at the Buddha International Film Festival, India 2019, while it was an Official Selection at the 4th International Short Film Festival, Pune India and Genre Celebration Festival, 2019.

Adventures of Turtle Taido was premiered in 2015, and has since gained local and international recognition. The series is watched in at least 25 African countries, as well as in the United Kingdom, on SKY TV. In 2017, the series was made into a TV Game Show for Primary School Children and has become quite popular with the kids.

Early this year, Turtle Taido officially unveiled its initial merchandize, the Turtle Taido Tops, which went on sale on the nation’s two leading online retailers, Jumia and Konga.
